Default Would sourcing a solid flywheel do much damage?

I've just been to the stealers and the local motor factors for some prices and i'm still shaking yet lol

Stealers Clutch, csc and DMF 1k! (he did say he could give me 15% off) so that would be 850 quid

Motor factors wants 935 for all the above.

I'm not even sure if it's needing a dmf if i'm totally honest but don't want to get it all stripped to realise it's knackered

How much damage would be done to the gearbox by fitting a solid flywheel or should I just go with the clutch for now and if it's still not right, strip it all down again and fit a new DMF

that price sounds high from the motor factors, maybe try ebay (if you havnt already) and see if you can source a LUX kit, as thats original fitment. I know other members have gotten a clutch and dmf for around £455, then had an independant garage fit it. As far as i am aware, no one yet manufactures a solid flywheel and there has been some discussion as to whether a solid flywheel would ens up damagin the transnission, as these were designed for use with dmf's, sadly...

Depends on what box, the F23 has been fitted for years with a solid flywheel, to fit one in the vec c all you need to do is machine a spacer.

TIS stated the 2.2DTI used a F35. Now in the Astra/Zaffy the F23 didn't have a dmf but on the vec c it did. If the info in the link above is correct then the F35 in the Zaffy doesn't have a DMF so a solid flywheel is available for your box but as with the F23 conversion it might need a small spacer making up as the DMF is slightly wider.

Sorry mate should have said this is on a 2.2dti, the DMF's aren't as prone to going judging by the price.

Would also be cheaper to buy a new gearbox than another dmf lol

Cheers mate, I have come across their site before and they do an uprated clutch for 180 quid so the clutch may well come from them. Cheers for the link as I had lost it

Interesting, what zafira's have an f35 though? Did they do a 2.2dti zaf?
