Hi new to the site I have recently bought a veccy sri t 100
edition I have an open cone filter on at the min with air box removed my question is would the air box mod be better for performance and sound as the turbo spooling and re-circ sound is pretty good cheers guys

It's widely accepted on here, these engines perform best with either the original air box (modded with a high flow filter), or the SAAB optiflow intake.

Well basic petrol tuning dictates warm expanded air is bad for combustion against cool therefore compressed air. Would be good to see the cone perform against the method posted above on a RR

If you can feed the cone with cool air then all the better, heat soak-proof it for better results, a closed system for supposedly even better results.

The trouble is, even if you do drop a few ponies due to hot air, once you've got used to the sound of a cone it's hard to go back the the stock box.

Thanks for the input guys it's not so much the induction sound as the spooling and dump that I like lol not enough for a dump valve tho although iv been told they cause nightmares on these engines

You'd be right. Dump valve on a z20net throws away loads of useful residual boost pressure. Waste of time and power. As to air filter, a decent panel filter in the original box with airbox mod done is great but if you can keep your cone fed with cold air that'll be fine

@Caveman_nige is the man to answer this. I'm sure he has done this, and surprised a lot of people with his results.
