    Default FK coilover trauma

    Hi,

Ive recently fitted some FK ak coilovers to my veccy Sri, i did this as i had 2 snapped springs and seemed like a good idea at the time.......well it wasnt a good idea i hate them but thats another story, the thing thats really bugging me is that all the adjusters are set in totally different positions (to try and give me an even ride height).... ive heard all the chat about weight in different areas etc etc however for example my n/s/f is nearly as low as it goes but never quite seems as low as the o/s/f which is only wound half way down !?!?! then on the back the n/s/r is nearly as high as it goes but still looks lower the the o/s/r which again is only wound down about half way...................has anybody else had this problem ? as in the past ive pretty much set coillies all in the same position and they are pretty much right other then some fine tuning !!...Eventually its more then likely that il go back to stock SRI shocks and buy some springs but in the meantime would just like to know whether this is normal or if its just a consequence of utter cheap s**t !!

Any feed back will be much appreciated

    Ta

Sounds like you need a trip to a proper race shop to do your corner weights and check the spring rates etc.

Or perhaps just a set of new OE springs and shocks

I had a set of FK coilovers a while ago. I had the same problem. After a few months, they all started sagging.
I'd suggest going for matched springs and shocks. You'll get a better ride quality and a more even dispersion. I saved up the pennies and went with the Bilstien B12 kit. It made a huge difference to the looks and handling. Or like Dog-Book said. Get your corners done at a race prep shop.

Only time I see a good review thread on FK its springs only, even their shocks in general are a lot softer then the standard set up...

FK shocks are very poor but then for the price..... what do you expect. I do hear the high sports are better but they cost more...
