    Default P0597 no warning lights

    Right,,,
Problem number 2 of my Vectra ownership begins

I have no errors or anything on the dash but out of interest i did the pedal test and got error code p0597 Thermostat error,
now i notice (still with no errors) that the engine reads cold for like 2 miles after starting from cold then (i)rapidly(/i) increases to 90c and stays there, drives fine and cools as it should. Is my thermo broke or not ???????

I would say not. Mine doesn't read until I've done a few miles then climbs to running temp. I seem to remember a post talking about how lightly damped the guage is, so it will move quickly.

Ok no worries there then, thanks.

Also (when doing the pedal test) i have two codes coming up on pedal test for cruise control, and brake light switch. My cruise control isn't working so this adds up, HOWEVER strangely when i plug in my diagnostics it says no errors logged or stored. Any ideas ????

    Thanks in advance.

OBD11 elm 327 cable with OBD2 doctor, yes i know its tech 2 or opcom but this should still be capable of showing any error codes, it reads all the data off the car from the sensors ect.

unfortunately, no it won't, you would need a specific reader to ensure you pull all the 'real' codes out the car.

But the original post does not appear to me to be an issue.

Car would run from cold with stat shut. Once operating temp reached, stat opens and gauge will rise.

Obd2 readers only pull generic engine codes
