Default Anyone any "good" with OpenElec & XBMC ?

    Hi guys,

Well the work on fitting a Raspberry Pi to the CD70 & Screen for use as a Media Centre is complete and all working

The "problem" is that the font size set in OpenElec is really too small to read on a CD70 CID and needs to be made much bigger.

BUT, I can't understand the procedures involved in changing it.

Is there anyone in the North West who could spare a bit of their time and experience/knowledge in helping me to change the setting to one that is more user friendly ?

    Cheers lads

    Woody

you can change the skin for a car/small screen friendly one or fiddle with the resolution a bit. Not sure if you can fiddle with the font size.

I would have thought the better option for in-car would be an android box/usb stick? Far more options.

How are you interfacing with the CID? do you have the video in? i want tooooo!

I do have Video In mate. I have the Comfort Unit, VCU-01, CAM-PS, Raspberry Pi with 12v Regulator & Case and Reversing Camera all from www.pepas.cz

Proper stuff which all interfaces correctly with the canbus and menu driven from the headunit without disabling the all important system fault messages (overheating / loss of coolant etc) which is not something that the alternative option offers.

@OzMoSiS - If you have a chance I would appreciate the chance to chat through "how to change the skin"

Must have missed this first time round! Take a photo of xbmc running on the CID so we've got an idea of what needs tweaking to begin with, and we'll take it from there.

Actually, i did write a guide once upon a time on getting the best audio in car from a pc, might be useful.

    http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/tech-...dio-5-1-a.html

    scroll down a bit

The setup I had in my astra then was THE best sounding audio i've ever had in a car. And I know for a fact it was the PC setup because I was using the same components, amp, and sub that i was using previously with a pioneer head unit. It did take a bit of experimenting, but I got there in the end.

I was using one of these as a sound card, because you can sit it by the amp, have really short interconnects, and not lose any signal quality because it's all digital via usb.

EDIT: just realised this is ALL pointless as you have a pi......happy to help haha

    Ok, here's the screenshot @ThatAudioBloke

There's not a lot of point in posting up the files selection screen, just be assured that the text is too small to read easily with these settings

    http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title...O:Change_skins

It will need to be connected to the internet, but you can browse and change skins from within XBMC

That's gonna be awesome when done!

If I can ask, what are the audio output levels like on the raspberry Pi ? I need something similar to run XBMC in the kitchen cupboard, to remote control music in there. I 'borrowed' my daughters android tablet for a test run, but the audio levels were quite low. So I need to decide if I should use an android tv box or raspberry.
