    Default 16inch Wheels...which tyres should i get?

Ok, time to take off the winter tyres I have been driving around on for the last 40,000 miles!!! I want them to last this winter.

At the moment I have 215/55/16 Avon Ice Touring, and frankly they have been excellent especially in the snow last year (in Hungary). And to be honest they are not so bad outside of the winter, but with 6mm left all round and in the summer can expect another 2mm to come off I am taking them off and getting some all weather tyres fitted.

Should I stick with this size? I am thinking Evergreens, I don't want to pay more than £350 for all corners.

Check Camskill and Asda tyres and even Black Circles for prices

Just put a set of Vredestein Sportrac 5's on mine. £80 each off e-bay and local garage charges a tenner each to fit.

Excellent tyres - read the reviews :-)

I would use 205/55/16 if they are applicable. The size is so much cheaper.

205/55/16 are a better size tbh and a lot more common, I ran Bridgestone turanza's and also michelins on my old 16" wheels..

Have a look on Tyre shopper , some good prices and deals for sets of 4. I have got Westlake on mine and for £55 a corner fully fitted they are pretty good. If I had the money I would buy continental tyres as for a summer tyre they are pretty good in the winter.

Right, this is a very ignorant question....I know you can change the type of tyre for the rim you have...my question is how can varying widths of tyre fit on existing rims? So, for example, my current tyres are 215's but some have suggested getting 205's....how are they going to fit?!
