Default P/N for Bilstein B6 (Vec Sri Facelift)

    Greetings peeps,

Would be very grateful if any of you could point me in the right direction.

Firstly my car is a '55 reg Facelift Vectra SRi 1.9CDTi - 8 valve
I am looking to refresh my tired shocks on my car with some Bilstein B6's

I had a look on both LMF and Larkspeed for shocks for front and rear of the car but not sure what part number shocks I should be looking to buy.

Guessing the SRi is also called a GTS as mine is a Hatchback??

I understand that PRE-FACELIFT & FACELIFT shocks differ with regards to the ABS cable bracket on pre-facelift, where the bracket for the sensor plug bolts to the strut and on facelift the plug clips onto a fixed/welded strut bracket

The more I look the more I am confusing myself

Can anyone please assist and link the correct shocks to look at buying

    Thank you in advance
    Damo

Think I have worked it out now. Thank you for your help XPCobra

Will be banging in an order with them next week hopefully.

If my workings are correct the P/N's are:

    Fronts 35-192954
    Rears 24-069601

Anyone know if my year and a half old Eibach springs will go straight onto these?? Didn't really want to have to buy any more springs as well.

    Thanks again

You would be better off buying the B12 kit As it comes with B8 shock absorbers (matched shorter piston) and its only £600ish

I bought the full kit recently with the '01' eibach spring kit and have been very happy with how responsive it has made he car feel when turning. Big difference from standard sri shock absorbers and eibach springs.

The shocks are sided, so the part number for the front will only be for one side of the car. Don't order 2 of them!

35-192954 is for the left hand side
35-192961 is for the right hand side
24-069601 is the rear - they aren't sided.

So, you need 1 each of the first two, and two of the third.

    Sorted

After looking at LMF though, the B8s are only fractionally more expensive. The B6 kit will cost you £538ish for the four shockers, whereas the B8s will cost £554ish, which essentially combined with your Eibach springs will give you a B12 kit on the car.

    The B8 part numbers are:

    35-192978 - Front Left
    35-192985 - Front Right
    24-069618 - Rear

As before, 1 each of the first two and 2 of the third.

Last time I was looking for shock absorbers, http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk were cheaper than LMF.

Had anyone the opportunity to compare B6 and B8 with the same springs (ideally Eibachs, but not necessarily) and have an opinion on how they feel ?

+1 for motorsportworld, got my springs from them, and they actually send you what they say, unlike LMF

Thanks for all the help gents

Decided to order up a set of B8's as I already have a full set of Eibach Pro springs to go along with it.

    LMF Order.JPG

Will be getting a Hunter Alignment/Geometry done at the end of the month to hopefully get the car all lined up again.

Now, I have ordered all new suspension bolts, rubber shock boots, strut top mounts + bearings and spring sleeves (blue) whilst everything is off.

    Bolts.JPG

The thing that is puzzling me is that when I installed sleeves on the springs last year, I installed the sleeves on the spring closest to the wheel hub NOT in the top against the bearing.
Can anyone confirm that this is correct as according to the ECAT they are pictured at the top of the spring (unsure if this just for illustration purposes only)

Think it may be a busy bank holiday Monday next week haha

Thank you once again gents for taking the time to reply/assist

The spring sleeves are definitely fitted to the bottom of the spring.
