    Default Radiator Bushings (Mounts)

Just had a look under my bonnet, not much room by the radiator.

Does anyone know what VIN numbers were affected by the Radiator Mounts / Bushing problem?

Also, if I do not have any noises from my car and it is coming up to 12 months old ... likely that they have already been replaced or didn't need replacing?

I don't believe there was a particular range of cars affected. You either had the problem or you didn't. You'd notice it quite easily, a creaking noise coming from the front, more noticeable at low speeds.

If it happens at any point in the three year warranty they'll be replaced. It's not classed as a trim/bodywork part so doesn't fall under the 12 month warranty period for that.

    Denzo

Mine were squeaking badly when I first got the car - hence reason for looking on the web and finding the forum!

My top mounts had a metal spring in between rubber bits. It was the spring that made the noise. It could be quietened by simply spraying with WD40 but it didnt last very long. The new mounts fitted were all rubber/plastic - no noise

Got this noise on my 04 vectra. My mechanic is ordering the part and it will hopefully not cost me a penny

    zsh,

What does the noise sound like, is it present all the time or intermittently?

well the strange thing is its not there when engine is "cold", like when i enter car first time in the morning. After few kilometers it starts. Its like cracking noise and it happenes when i release the clutch, with or without accelerator pressed, easy or normally released. When i am up in speed then noise disapears. Mechanic who checked this opened the hood while i released the clutch with gear in and he said it was a radiator something (dont know word in english, holder? like engine cushions).

The car is in VX at the moment - they are going to replace the rad mounting rubbers free of charge and claim to have sorted the "power loss" issues - some kind of sensor - I believe it when I drive it for a few days.....
