hi m8t have u had a look to see if ur fuses are ok id disconect ur batt fully charge it make sure all the fuses are ok and u have a good contact on the batt and make sure ur starter wires are all on ok then try ur spare key as wen u have taken the batt off it will have re set your ecu if u left it over night with the batt diconected and ur ecu would have went back to default if u try it and it wont start ie turn over then take ur starter out and use a set of jump leads on it from ur booster pack to the starter thats on the ground mond get some 1 to put there foot on it and hold it as u conect the leads if it spins its ok re fit it dont keep making it spin as u could damage it after that reconect ur batt agin try it agian if still no joy then its a tech 2 or a fault code reader to see what faults it showing m8
ok chaps will give that a go thanks for your reply's , fingers crossed
Lock the doors using remote keys out of ignition then unlock and start.Had a similar thing when stalled and tried to restart to quickly.Immobiliser kicked in so needed door locked,
I'm not an expert but it sounds like one key isn't working properly if you get the lock symbol and on the spare you don't, so use the spare.
The clicking sound when using the spare is probably the starter motor trying to turn but there's not enough juice in the battery to get it started.
You could try bump starting it with the spare key (providing no pad lock symbol) and it may work but be careful if it doesn't because the brakes won't be too good!
Bump it in first gear too as I find that's easiest and engine braking helps if it doesn't start to slow you down!
to "bridge" the starter you get a piece of cable or a screwdriver and touch the main cable on starter(still connected to starter) and touch it over to the smaller wire on starter if car tries to start the at least you know the starter motor is ok
All that fuss and it was the battery all along put a new one on this morning and its perfect now
Glad you got it sorted mate.
